Salmon: Pan Seared with lemon garlic butter sauce

With steelhead running all over the country many anglers are finding themselves lucky enough to take one of these beauties home.  If you find yourself lucky enough to take one of these silver bullets from the river to the stove top then give this delicious recipe a try.  This recipe can really be done with any fish. I personally just really enjoy it with Salmon.

Cooktime: 15 minutes

What do you need

  1. Salmon (Make sure you get your pin bones out! Click here for a quick tip on how to get rid of these suckers.)
  2. Olive Oil
  3. Butter
  4. Garlic powder
  5. Salt
  6. Pepper
  7. Parsley or Parsley Flakes
  8. 1 Lemon

How to make it

  1. Start by drying off your Salmon fillets with a paper towel and make sure all your pin bones are out.  I like making sure my salmon fillets are skinless.
  2. Season both sides of the fillets with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Then cut the salmon fillets into serving size portions.
  3. Preheat a pan to medium heat and place one generous spoonful of butter in the microwave until melted. (*about 1 minute)
  4. Put some olive oil in the pan and place fillets in the pan without crowding.
  5. Then as you cook the fish grab that butter and pour it over each serving giving it an even coating. (Continually baste as you cook)
  6. Then cook each side for about five minutes give or take depending on the size of your fillets.
  7. Sprinkle a little parsley on top and some lemon and you’re in business.
